Guy has served in the Australian Embassy in Jakarta and is a member of Indonesian diaspora associations in Australia. Guy has worked in the Indo-Pacific region for more than twenty years, both in government and the private sector. Guy has also spent more than a decade living in Japan and working on Japan security and defence issues,including as the first Australian Defence civilian to graduate from the Japanese National Institute for Defence Studies.
